Last year, The Latino Business Action Network (LBAN) published their first annual report on the State of Latino Entrepreneurship in the United States. This report aggregates information from their database of businesses, which includes approximately 1 million firms. Click below to read the report:
Especially striking among LBAN’s findings are two facts: more than half the surveyed businesses (54%) are staying stagnant or shrinking; and 42% of businesses have been denied capital by outside sources, primarily banks. This points to a lack of access to capital as a primary driver keeping Latino-owned businesses from growing.
At LIST Ventures, nearly all our clients have been denied capital (92%). We specialize in access to capital and always provide prospective clients with an analysis that identifies clearly and concisely the potential issues. To learn more about our methodologies, please read our case studies.
